Very good!

I'll be honest, I was enjoying the first two Poirot novels, but the third book of shorts was less engaging for me, and I considered reading something else instead of this, but boy am I glad I didn't!

In 2013 this book was voted as the best crime novel ever, and I can understand why.

Admittedly, I don't have an abundance of mystery genre experience, but I thought that even though this book is so old, it still felt fresh once I finished it. Definitely would recommend!

Mi neniam antaŭe legis ion de Agatha Christie kaj mi ne aparte ŝatas la krimromanan ĝenron, sed mi kompreneble konas la universon de Hercule Poirot ĉar li fariĝis konata parto de la kulturo kaj ankaŭ pro la filmo de la Orienta Ekspreso. Mi multe ĝuis la libron kaj legis ĝin preskaŭ senpaŭze. La ritmo de la libro estas tre rapida. Oni ne malŝparas tempon por detale priskribi la ĉirkaŭaĵojn, anstataŭe ŝajnas ke ĉiu frazo aldonas iun informon pri la intrigo kaj estas konstanta fluo de ŝokaj surprizoj. Tial estas malfacile forlasi la libron post kiam oni komencas legi.

Estas klare ke plejparte la roluloj estas nur iloj por antaŭenigi la rakonton. Ili plejparte restas en la atendoj de siaj karikaturoj. La roluloj mem kelkfoje ridas pri homoj kiuj legas senvalorajn krimromanojn, do eble tio estas agnosko de Agatha Christie pri la nura distra celo de la libro. La rolo …
