Harry Potter is preparing to leave the Dursleys and Privet Drive for the last time. But the future that awaits him is full of danger, not only for him, but for anyone close to him – and Harry has already lost so much. Only by destroying Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes can Harry free himself and overcome the Dark Lord's forces of evil.

In this dramatic conclusion to the Harry Potter series, Harry must leave his most loyal friends behind, and in a final perilous journey find the strength and the will to face his terrifying destiny: a deadly confrontation that is his alone to fight.

These adult editions with glorious jacket art by Andrew Davidson are now available in hardback for the first time.

Excellent series for kids and for adults

5 stars

This review ended up being imported into the comments, here, from GR. I am so glad that I decided to read this book again, especially in English. Looking at it for the third or fourth time that I've read it shows me how much Rowling shows in this book and all the books that came before it the importance of leadership decision making and identity formation, what shapes us as children and gets passed down from one generation to another generation to the next generation how that affects us and what we can or can't do as a result of that.

Great series

Reading the series again after 25 years made me realise how much I didn't get the first time and how much was altered for the movies.

From all books I liked "The Order of the Phoenix" the least. Not sure why but I thought it quite chewy to read through. Not as gripping or thrilling as the others.

Nonetheless, I love the series. Guess, I will read them again in 20+years or so ;).

and I am really curious about #8 now.
